Motoz: Its a common problem. We see it mainly on Windows Vista, 7, 8 using a serial adapter that is designed for windows xp. They seem to work, but after some hours/days even weeks, they crash in the driver. You can do anytihing, i have tried software in most languages, using different techologies, no change. It boils down to small control messages, no problem, but larger amounts of data crashes them. Also you can install a failing usb device on Windows XP or Linux, runs perfectly. We see it occasionally on Linux but that is quite rare, so two adapteres (of different brands that i assume it is) sound a bit strange. For Windows the FTDI chipset is by far the best, Prolific chipset is made in thousands of chinese copies with more or less stable drivers/hardware, thats a nightmare.
