Jeg ved desværre intet om Scotte, men har et bio 18 fyr. Er det ikke for sådan en som mig, dvs. er det ogsåfor Bio 18 brugere?
Hilsen og tak

Hi,

Black, not fully burned pellets, normally is a sign of too much air-flow through the burner.
This results in the pellets "flying" with the airstream, before they are fully burned to ashes.
Typically this is again a result of too high drag in the chimney, caused of missing drag-regulator (drag-reducer) in the chimney.
When the wether get colder, the temperature difference between top and buttom of chimney increses, and the drag as well.
The air-flow through the burner is af som of the airstream from the blower and the drag from the chimney.
Therefor - first make sure that you have a controlled low drag from the chimney, thereafter adjust the air-stream (blower) to correct setpoint.
These adjustments are fundamental for the adjustment of the system, and should be done by the installer.

Best regards
Michael

Yes, I was refering to a danish Bio18-user that for some reason wrote in this tread. Very sorry about the misunderstanding.

I hope you are still with us...

Hello, ok, sorry for the misunderstanding. ;D

First off all thanks to Frank,
this morning I checked the draft stabiliser in the chimney....
IT WAS LOCKED FOR SOME REASON  >:(
That way it could not work anyhow, who has done this, i don't know at all but i will keep an eye on this in the near future.

My black pellets problem started since a few weeks ago it started getting cold over here in Belgium.
The installation guy came over, cleaned everything and changed a lot off parts, shortly a long story to explain.
After all of that it did NOT became any better untill i called the manufacturer NBE in Denmark and had Jannich Hansen on the phone.
Very nice person and very helpfull, great service and they know what they are talking about.
Since yesterday he started checking my complete settings in the controller of the scotte burner.
I must admit that there was a lot of settings wrong in the menu's... :( thanks to my installation guy / salesmen.

Today we checked again after mentioning to him the DRAFT REGULATOR was closed and locked....so we did change some more settings this morning and guess what  ;D  ;D  ;D

Yess, everything seems to be allright at this moment, my ashtray is a lot less full then before and the ashes are as normal as before when it was brandnew.
Finally we are happy SCOTTE USERS again.

MANY MANY THANKS to the manufacturer for helping me out and offcourse allso to this forum and the users for giving me the tips.
Have a nice and WARM winter.
 ;)
